About Wesley (Wes) Sand

Wes is the COO of AGR Partners (AGR), joining full-time in 2017 after serving on AGR’s Advisory Board since inception. He brings decades of experience in business operations, strategy, and investment to the team. He is responsible for management of the investment staff, actively participates in deal sourcing, underwriting and portfolio management, as well as overseeing day to day operations.

Before joining the firm, Wes was the President and COO of Movie Gallery, Inc., where he successfully led the company through a restructuring process. He also helped to successfully turn around a semiconductor and disk drive materials company. He founded and led Yardconnect, a venture-backed ecommerce marketplace serving the forest products industry. While at Koch Industries, Wes worked for the Capital Services and Equities business group where he was part of a team leading leveraged buyouts and strategic investments in specialty chemicals. Wes began his career at McKinsey & Company in Chicago.

Wes graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from Cornell University and attended Oxford University on a Rhodes scholarship graduating with a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. He is a director on the board of The Ford Family Foundation, as well as a member of the Foundation’s Investment Committee.
