About Catherine Schaefer

Catherine leads the company’s people strategy across all of our offices. Her remit includes culture, organisation and change; alongside talent, performance, compensation, and diversity and inclusion. Catherine is a member of the company’s global executive leadership team and remuneration committee. In addition to the human resources leadership of Nuveen Real Estate, Catherine is also responsible for human resources for Nuveen Europe and Asia Pacific.

Catherine joined the company in November 2018, having previously spent 18 years at Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch as a senior human resources leader for various business functions including global markets, wealth and investment management, technology and infrastructure.

Catherine graduated with a B.A. in Geography and Sociology from Hull University.
