About Christopher Lipton

Chris is Head of Timberland Investments for Nuveen Natural Capital. He is responsible for leading strategy development and business growth across the firm's global timberland investment platform and operations.

Prior to Nuveen, he served as the Managing Director of the Timberland Mergers and Acquisition team for the Hancock Natural Resources Group, where he was responsible for the investment and growth strategy of the timberland business. Prior to that, he was the Head of Global Transactions and Asset Management at BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group focusing on property management cost and structure and under his leadership global AUM grew, supported by a new U.S. product launch and key acquisitions in Latin American markets. Chris also served as the General Manager and Chief Forester at Longview Timber Corporation (a Brookfield Asset Management portfolio company) where he led the transition from a family-owned business to an institutional timberland business. He was responsible for managing the strategic and financial analysis of acquisitions and divestitures for the firm, resulting in increased profitability and cost savings.

Chris graduated with a B.S. in Forest Resource Management from the University of Washington and an M.B.A from the University of Oregon’s Charles H. Lundquist School of Business.
