About Thorsten Kiel

Thorsten is responsible for the investment and asset management activities of Nuveen Real Estate’s European industrial and logistics portfolio which totals more than $3B of AUM across all core markets and various client mandates. Six of these mandates are fully dedicated to logistics, the most recent one European Logistics Fund II was launched in 2020.

Since joining the business in 2007, Thorsten has been involved in the conception of funds for our institutional clients. From 2012, he has been responsible for growing the business’ logistics platform. The team has added more than 40 assets in the past five years to the European logistics portfolio. Prior to joining the business, Thorsten worked for Ernst & Young Real Estate, on several portfolio transactions, corporate M&As and property company IPOs.

Thorsten studied abroad at the University of San Diego (U.S.) and Nottingham University (U.K.). He graduated with a German degree equivalent to a M.Sc. in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) from European Business School, Germany. He is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
