About Peter Hansell

Peter is a senior investment professional in Nuveen Real Estate’s debt team in Europe.

Prior to joining the business in 2021, Peter was Head of Real Estate at Cairn Capital, establishing its commercial real estate lending business in 2015, including launching its first commingled CRE debt fund in 2016 and before that establishing its real estate debt advisory business when he joined the firm in 2008. Before this, Peter was a managing director at Lehman Brothers, within the Global Real Estate Group with responsibility for structuring and distribution of loans originated across Europe. Peter has also worked at Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank, Standard and Poor’s where he established the European CMBS ratings team, The Royal Bank of Scotland and real estate consulting firm Weatherall Green and Smith (now BNP Real Estate).

Peter graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in Geography from University of London (University College) and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
