Marie A. Newcome, CFA^®

Marie is a portfolio manager for Nuveen’s global fixed income team and heads the custom taxable fixed income separately managed account strategy team. She is also a member of the multi-sector and ESG/impact strategy teams. She specializes in managing individual and institutional portfolios with customizations in quality, asset class, duration and responsible investing/social themes.

Marie’s prior experience at the firm includes being a member of the global interest rate and foreign currency sector team, co-manager of the Nuveen Strategic Income Fund and Short-Term Bond Fund, and member of the Stable Value investment team. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, she held several positions at Ameriprise/Columbia Threadneedle, most recently as a senior fixed income quantitative analyst, co-managing institutional portfolios and separately managed accounts for high-net-worth clients. Marie began working in the investment industry in 1992.

Marie graduated with honors with a B.A in Finance from the University of St. Thomas. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst^® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Minnesota. She is a long-time volunteer and past board member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Minnesota.
