Joy Crenshaw, CIMA^®

Joy is responsible for the knowledge and skill development for Nuveen’s client facing distribution teams across the globe. She oversees the strategic direction for the advisor education team responsible for thought leadership and value-add programs for financial professionals and home offices. Data analysis has become an increasing important factor used to drive short and intermediate decisions to drive efficiency, effectiveness and connectivity with key stakeholders. As a result, Joy created a Business Strategy function to establish processes to measure and analyze top initiatives that inform the direction of future plans. As a member of the Nuveen Leadership team, Joy serves as a key enterprise leader responsible for executing the firm’s strategic initiatives and taking accountability for business results.

Prior to this role, she held several leadership positions in the Global Private Client group, most recently as the Head of Global Sales and Advisor Development. She served in key roles in the Organizational & Educational Development and Distribution teams. Joy was a founding member of Nuveen’s first ever business resource group, focused on leading, connecting and developing personal and professional growth for women in the asset management profession. She joined Nuveen in 1997 after holding positions at CHAC as a housing specialist and Goldman Sachs in the Global Security Services Division.

Joy graduated with a B.A. from Miami University, holds the FINRA Series 7, 24, 66 registrations and the CIMA designation.
